I can only go by relations who have lived there for 31 years who are all fluent in Catalan, they live rural in a farm house and said their Mallorquin neighbours will only speak to them in Mallorqui and refuse to converse in Catalan (it's a stubborn little Islander mentality thing, although I can see their point) and they can't understand a word they say. Castilian is obviously out of the question.

Their words, the Mallorquin dialect accent is very different to Catalan, they likened it to an English speaker moving to Wales and trying to understand their neighbours who would only speak Cymraeg.

It's basically Catalan with a few local words thrown in.

Port De Pollenca is right - Catalan is the first language of Majorca. Puerto Pollensa is its name in Castilian Spanish.

Neo Nazis are in El Arenal, south of Mallorca, is equivalent to Magaluf. 40% of Mallorca is German owned/populated. Helmut Kohl even offered to buy Mallorca. The British resorts remain separated. Pollensa and Alcudia were always mainly British resorts 20 years ago, not sure about now?

You mean Puerto Pollensa. Nice, fairly quiet. Attractive part of the island, only outdone by the West Coast. Just along the road from Alcudia which is much livelier. Alcudia's beaches are superb and worth visiting. Get the ferry from Alcudia to Menorca.
